Tamper Switches Checklist
A tampered switch is a type of microswitch that detects when it has been accessed or tampered with. It contains an internal switch mechanism that is triggered if the switch’s cover is removed. When the switch detects it has been accessed, it closes an electrical circuit which can activate an alarm or send an alert signal. Tampered switches are useful for detecting unauthorized physical access on doors, windows, safes, equipment panels and enclosures. They allow asset protection by signaling unwanted entry attempts and can deter theft, vandalism or data breaches by indicating when sensitive components have possibly been disturbed or reconfigured.
